Apple Cookie Rolls Recipe
Apple Cookie Rolls – These apple cookies are different because they are made with fresh apples instead of applesauce. They’re pretty but most of all they taste amazing!
For the dough;
- 250 grams butter or margarine (room temperature),
- 25 grams powdered sugar,
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt,
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour (350 grams) (the cup size: 200 ml.).
For the filling;
- 3 middle size apples,
- 1 coffee spoon of ground cinnamon,
- 85 grams granulated sugar,
- Ground walnut or hazelnut (to taste).
Process of Apple Cookie Rolls Recipe
Prepare the filling. Wash the apples, peel them. Remove the core and grate the apples. Place the apples in a saucepan and add 1 teacup granulated sugar on. Cook them until the apples leak out the juice and re-absorb it by stirring continuously. Stir in the cinnamon and ground walnut. Remove the heat and leave to cool.
Prepare the dough. Put all the ingredients except for the flour in a deep bowl. Add the flour gradually and knead it until you get a soft, but non-sticky dough. Divide the dough into five equal pieces.
Roll out the first piece with the rolling pin until you have a circle about 17 cm. in diameter (dessert plate size). Divide into 8 triangular pieces. Put the 1 coffee spoon filling on the wide end of each triangle. Roll up each triangle, beginning from the wide end to the point.
Apply the same process for the other dough pieces. And place the rolls into the greased baking tray.
Bake them into the preheated oven to 175°C until their bottoms get lightly brown. Remove them from the oven before their tops get brown and leave to cool into the baking tray.
When they get enough cool, you can serve after you dust powdered sugar on them.
