Baked Beef Stew in Clay Pot Recipe
Cooking in clay pot, especially beef stew in clay pot has a very special place in Turkish cuisine. Everyone agrees that the food becomes more tasty when cooked in clay pot.
- 300 grams beef (chopped in bite size),,
- 500 grams canned garnish (boiled potato, pea and carrot),
- 1 middle size potato,
- 1 onion,
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
- 1 tablespoon of butter,
- 1 tablespoon of tomato paste,
- 2 gloves of garlic,
- 2 leaves daphne (to taste),
- 4 cups of water (800 ml.),
For its above;
- Grated kashar cheese.
Process of Baked Beef Stew in Clay Pot Recipe
Firstly, heat the non sticky pot.
Then put the chopped beef into the pot and stir them constantly until the color of the beef change.
This process is called searing. It is necessary to make the beef enough tender and also if you make the beef searing it gets more delicious.
After you sear the beef close the pot and cook it at a low heat until the beef absorbs the juice again.
Add the vegetable oil and butter on the beef and stir them.
After you add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook them until they get softener by stirring.
Add the paste and diced potatoes while stirring.
And then put the water and cook until the potatoes get softener.
After that, add the garnish on them and stir.
Add the salt and simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat and fill small, ovenproof clay pots.
Place the cups into the baking tray and pour some water into the tray.
Bake them into the preheated oven to 180°C for 10 to 15 minutes.
Then put some grated kashar cheese on them and wait them into the hot oven until the cheese melted.
Remove from the oven and serve hot.
