Ingredients;

For the bechamel sauce;

  • 3 tablespoons of all purpose flour,
  • 3 and a half cups of milk,
  • 50 grams butter,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt,
  • A half teaspoon of ground black pepper.

For the filling;

  • 700 grams chicken breast,
  • 1 onion,
  • 1 clove of garlic,
  • 5 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
  • 1 red pepper,
  • 1 green pepper,
  • One coffee spoon of pepper paste,
  • A half teaspoon of black pepper,
  • 1 coffee spoon of crushed red pepper,
  • 1 teaspoon of salt.

To prepare the potatoes;

  • 2 medium size potatoes,
  • 1 coffee spoon of thyme,
  • A half teaspoon of red pepper,
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
  • A half teaspoon of salt.

For the top;

  • 1 cup of grated cottage cheese.

The cup size: 200 ml.

Process of Baked Chicken and Potatoes with Bechamel Sauce Recipe

For the baked chicken and potatoes with bechamel sauce, firstly, peel the potatoes and slice them in to a pyrex.
Add the salt, the spices and the vegetable oil and combine.
Place the potato slices into tray and bake them at 200°C for 20 minutes.

Dice the chicken breasts and put them in to a saucepan then add vegetable oil.
Cook it until the diced chicken breasts absorbs the juice.
Add the finely chopped onion, garlic and peppers, continue cooking by stirring.
Add the paste and stir and then add the spices and stir.
After it is cooked, turn off the stove and leave it to cool.

To prepare the bechamel sauce, melt the butter.
Add the flour and stir until bubbly. Don’t let the flour darken or burn.
Turn the heat to low, add the milk, salt and whisk until smooth and continue whisking until the mixture scalds and begins to thicken.
Don’t let it boil. Continue until you have a smooth, white sauce.

Spread the chicken breast pieces you cooked on to the baked potatoes.
Pour and spread the bechamel sauce on them and sprinkle the grated cottage cheese.
Then bake it into the preheated oven to 200°C until it gets golden brown.
After baking, serve the dish hot.
