Braised Meat Recipe
A traditional Turkish dish that is one of the great braising recipes for meat and vegetable. Braised Meat is one of the main dishes from Ottoman Cuisine that people love to prepare.
- 250 grams beef (chopped in bite size),
- 1 medium size onion,
- 2 tomatoes,
- 2 green pointed peppers,
- 1 Charleston pepper,
- 1 red bell pepper,
- 2 gloves garlic,
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil,
- Red crushed pepper.
Process of Braised Meat Recipe
Firstly heat the non-stick pot at a medium heat while it is empty.
Then put the chopped beef in to the pot and stir.
Don’t let the chopped beef bring the juice out so at a high heat cook the meat by stirring for 3 or 4 minutes.
It is a technique called Searing (or pan searing).
After that add the vegetable oil, chopped onions, gloves of garlic and peppers and cook them by stirring.
Peel the tomatoes and dice them.
Add them also in to the pot.
Cook it for 20 or 25 minutes.
Before turning of the stove put the salt and the spices and stir.
Then you can serve the braised meat with pilaf or fired potatoes.
This recipe is for 3 or 4 people.
