Bread Rings Recipe
If you are a bagel fan, you will love these bread rings. They will be a new delicious breakfast or tea time treat for your family.
- 1 teacup of warm water (the teacup is: 110 ml.),
- 1 teacup of warm milk,
- A half teacup of vegetable oil,
- 1 teacup of yogurt, (you can use milk instead of yogurt.)
- 1 egg,
- 3 coffee spoons of granulated sugar,
- 1 coffee spoon of salt,
- 1 packet of instant yeast (10 grams),
- 5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup is:200 ml.).
For the top;
- 1 egg yolk,
- 2 tablespoons of water,
- 1 flick of granulated sugar,
- Sesame seeds,
- Black cumin seeds,
- Poppy seeds.
Process of Bread Rings Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dough, combine all the ingredients except for the flour and the yeast in a deep bowl.
Add the yeast and add the flour slowly and knead well.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Cover the dough and leave it to rise for 1 hour.
After the 1 hour, roll out the dough on a plain slightly floured surface (not very thin).
Cut the dough in round shapes by using a cup (If you want, you can use cookie cutters or jar instead of cup).
Cut the round shaped dough again with a smaller round cup, make ring shaped dough.
Continue with the other round shaped dough.
And place them in a greased tray.
Leave them in the tray to rise for 30 minutes.
At the end of the time, brush egg yolk on the bread rings and sprinkle some sesame seeds, black cumin seeds and poppy seeds.
Then bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking, serve them hot.
This bread rings recipe is for 27 rings.
Note; After covering the dough with a clean cloth, you can place it in a heated oven at 50°C for 15 or 20 minutes to rise. If your bowl is plastic, then cover the bowl completely with a large cloth and then place it in the oven.
