Broccoli with Bechamel Sauce Recipe
This broccoli is not just another broccoli dish. You will love this broccoli with creamy, delicious white sauce. Here is the my broccoli with bechamel sauce recipe;
- 600 grams of fresh broccoli (cut into spears),
- 5 cups of water (1 liter).
For the bechamel sauce;
- 50 grams of butter (2 tablespoons),
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of all purpose flour,
- 2 cups of milk (400 ml.),
- A half teaspoon of salt.
For the top;
- 100 grams of grated cheddar cheese.
Process of Broccoli with Bechamel Sauce Recipe
Firstly, cut the broccoli into spears and rinse then drain.
Boil some water in a pot and leave the broccoli pieces in to the boiling water for 5 or 6 minutes.
Take the broccoli pieces out from the pot (drain) and place them in a baking tray.
To prepare the bechamel sauce,melt the butter.
Add the flour and stir until bubbly. Don’t let the flour darken or burn.
Turn the heat to low and add the milk whisk until smooth.
And continue whisking until the mixture scalds and begins to thicken.When it gets thick, add salt.
Continue to cook by stirring until you have a smooth, white sauce.
Then pour the sauce on the broccoli pieces and sprinkle some grated cheddar cheese.
Bake it in the preheated oven at 180°C until the cheddar cheese melts and gets golden for almost 15 minutes.
Then serve hot.
