Bulgur Pilaf with Potato Recipe
This grain is not only so versatile but also guarantees a great meal. For this bulgur pilaf with potato, you simply throw all your ingredients into a saucepan and cook it all together. It’s as simple as that.

Ingredients;
- 1 cup of large (coarse) bulgur wheat,
- 1 onion,
- 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
- 1 green pepper,
- 1 red bell pepper (optional),
- A half tablespoon of paste,
- 1 potato,
- 1 tomato,
- Salt,
- Red pepper flakes,
- 2 cups of water (the cup is 200 ml.).
Process of Bulgur Pilaf with Potato Recipe
Firstly, finely chop the onion and the peppers and put them in a covered skillet or shallow pan.
Add 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil and cook by stirring.
Add the paste and add the peeled ,diced tomato and potato.
When it starts to boil, cover the lid and cook it over low heat until the potatoes get lightly tender in the tomato juice.
Then rinse and drain the bulgur.
And add them in the pan and stir.
Finally add 2 cups of water and add the salt.
Leave it to boil.
After it starts to boil, cover the lid and continue to cook over low heat until the bulgurs absorb the water.
When the bulgur absorb the water and get tender enough, remove it from the stove and leave it for 10 minutes before serving.
After the 10 minutes serve the pilaf hot.
If you want, you can add finely chopped parsley or basil on the pilaf just before you remove it from the stove.
