Process of Cinnamon Pastries Recipe
For the beginning, prepare the pastry dough. Combine the warm milk, sugar and the yeast in a deep bowl and cover it. After leaving it for 5 minutes, add the butter, vegetable oil, egg yolk, salt and the vanilla and mix them well by using your hand. Add the flour slowly and knead well. Get a soft but not sticky dough. Cover it and leave it to rise until it gets double size.
Prepare the filling. Mix the cinnamon powder and the sugar in a bowl.
After the dough gets double size, take walnut size pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm. Roll out the dough pieces as an oval on a slightly floured plain surface.
Brush the vegetable oil on the oval shaped dough sheet and sprinkle some of the cinnamon and sugar mixture on it. Roll the dough by starting with the long edge. And wrap the rolled dough in half. Cut the dough with a knife in half again (do not cut the tips). Turn the pieces you cut and get a heart shape pastry.
Place it on a baking sheet in a tray and continue with the other dough pieces. Before baking, leave them in the tray to rise for more 30 minutes.
Bake them in the preheated oven at 175°C until they get golden brown. Nothing is brushed on them before baking.
This cinnamon pastries recipe is for 30 pastries.
Note: If you do not have enough time to wait, then you can leave them in the preheated oven at 50°C for 15 minutes.
