Coarse Cracked Wheat Pilaf with Lentil Recipe
The combination of lentils with coarse cracked wheat (bulgur) forms a perfect protein.
- 1 cup of coarse cracked wheat,
- 1 cup of green lentil,
- 2 and a half more cups of water,
- 1 tablespoon of paste,
- A half cup of vegetable oil,
- Crushed red pepper.
Process of Coarse Cracked Wheat Pilaf with Lentil Recipe
Rinse the lentils and put them into a saucepan, pour 3 cups of water and cook until they get tender.
Then control them by biting into one to ensure they don’t get mushy.
Turn off the cooker and strain the lentils.
Add a tablespoon of paste and salt then mix them.
Rinse the coarse cracked wheat and also add them.
Pour 2 and a half more cups of water and bring them to boil.
When it starts to boil, lower the heat and cook until it absorbs the water.
When it absorbs the water, turn off the cooker and wait for 5 or 10 minutes.
Heat the oil into a pan and add the crushed red peppers and the sauce to the pilaf and mix them by stirring.
This pilaf can be served with buttermilk.
This recipe for 4 or 5 people.
