Creased Baklava Recipe
Phyllo dough is layered with butter, cinnamon and nuts and baked, then topped with a lemon syrup and allowed to cool before eating. Here is the our creased baklava recipe.
- 800 grams of phyllo dough (40 – 45 sheets).
- 300 grams of ground walnuts.
For its above;
- 200 grams of margarine or butter.
- 1 teacup of vegetable oil.
For the syrup;
- 3,5 cups of granulated sugar,
- 4 cups of water,
- 1 tea spoon of lemon juice.
Process of Creased Baklava
Place two sheets of phyllo dough on a flat surface.
Divide the sheets into 3 pieces longitudinally with the help of a knife.
Sprinkle ground walnuts on the sheets and shrink the sheets from short edge.
Press on the edges of creased sheets with the fingertips.
Put them into the tray.
Apply the same process for the other phyllo dough.
Melt the 250 grams of margarine in a saucepan and add 1 tea cup of vegetable oil on it.
Pour the mixture on the creased sheets.
Bake them in the preheated oven to 180°C until golden brown.
Remove them from the oven and leave to cool at room temperature.
Meanwhile make the syrup. Place the sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to boil.
Stirring until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for 10 minutes without stirring.
Pour the lemon juice. Boil for 5 minutes and remove from the heat. Leave it for 10 minutes.
Pour the hot syrup on the cool baklava. Let the baklava absorb the syrup and cool down.
You can decorate your desserts how you like and serve.
