Process of Fluffy Pastry Curls Recipe
Firstly, to make fluffy pastry curls dough, sift the 5 cups of flour in a deep bowl.
Heat the milk (do not boil).
Add the yeast and the sugar in the heated milk and leave it for 10 minutes by covering.
Add the olive oil, egg and egg white in the centre of the sifted flour.
Pour the milk, yeast and sugar mixture in the bowl.
Start to knead by taking the flour from the edges in the bowl.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Then cover the dough with a plastic wrap then again cover it with a clean cloth.
Leave it to rise until it gets double size.
Take mandarin size pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm.
Roll out the first piece on a plain surface by using a rolling pin as oval.
Then brush the melted butter on the dough.
Using a sharp knife, cut the pastry into 1 cm long, thin strips.
And roll it crosswise and from one end, coil it around itself (form a rose shape).
Continue with the other dough pieces and place the shaped pieces on a baking sheet in a tray.
At the end cover the tray with a plastic wrap and leave the fluffy pastry curls to rise for 40 minutes.
Then brush egg yolk on the fluffy pastry curls and sprinkle some sesame and black cumin seeds.
Bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking, serve hot or warm.
