Green Beans in Olive Oil Recipe
Green beans are a spring and summer favorite. Simply steamed and seasoned, this side dish (green beans in olive oil) yields flavorful results with minimal effort.
- 500 grams fresh green beans,
- 1 tea cup of olive oil,
- 2 onions,
- 3 tomatoes,
- 1 cup of water,
Process of Green Beans in Olive Oil Recipe
First wash and trim the green beans and cut into half.
Wash and peel the tomatoes and chop them into very small pieces.
Peel the onions and chop them into very small pieces.
Heat a half cup of olive oil in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
Then put the chopped onions in to the saucepan and saute them simply for 3 minutes.
Now add your green beans, stir and cook for 6 – 7 minutes.
Then add your chopped tomatoes on the beans and stir.
Add 1 cup of water and cook until beans get tender.
When beans get tender enough add salt and a half cup of olive oil and stir.
Cook for 1 – 2 minutes and remove your beans from the heat.
Allow to cool before serving.
A simple, straight-forward way to serve green beans in olive oil as a side dish. This is a good choice for a cold dish at a buffet.
