Kataifi Cake in Syrup Recipe

- 200 grams of kataifi dough,
- 1 tablespoon of butter,
- 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar.
For the cake mixture;
- 2 eggs,
- 1 teacup of vegetable oil(110 ml.),
- A half teacup of granulated sugar,
- 1 cup of all purpose flour,
- 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
- 10 grams of baking powder (1 packet),
- 1 cup of chopped walnut.
For the syrup;
- 2 cups of granulated sugar,
- 2,5 cups of water.
The cup is 200 ml.
Process of Kataifi Cake in Syrup Recipe
Firstly, cut the kataifi in small pieces by using kitchen scissors.
Put the butter in a pan and melt it then add the kataifi and sugar.
Cook the kataifi by stirring until crispy and nicely colored (do not let them get brown because the kataifi will baked).
Remove the kataifi from the pan in a separate bowl and leave it to get cool.
For the cake mixture, mix the eggs and sugar in a deep bowl.
Add the vegetable oil, vanilla, baking powder, flour and continue to mix.
Add the half of the kataifi pieces and chopped walnut and mix them by using a spatula.
Grease a round pyrex and sprinkle some kataifi and pour the cake mixture and spread.
Then sprinkle the kataifi left on the cake mixture and bake it in the preheated oven at 170°C until it gets golden brown for almost 30 minutes.
Check the cake by inserting a toothpick and take it out from the oven and leave it to cool at the room temperature.
To prepare the syrup, mix the sugar and the water and cook it until it boils.
Then continue to boil for more 15 minutes and remove it from the stove.
Leave it for a while.
After almost 5 minutes, pour the hot syrup on the kataifi cake get cool enough.
Leave the dessert until it gets cool enough and then serve by decorating how you like.
