Meatballs with Vegetables in Bechamel Sauce Recipe

Almost everybody loves meatballs no matter however they are cooked. Who can say “No” for meatballs and also imagine that the meatballs with vegetables in bechamel sauce.

Ingredients;

For the meatballs;

  • 400 grams ground beef,
  • 1 onion,
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic,
  • 1 pinch of parsley,
  • 1 egg,
  • A half teacup of breadcrumbs,
  • Black pepper,
  • Red crushed pepper,
  • Salt.

For the bechamel sauce;

  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil,
  • 2 tablespoons of butter (50 grams),
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons of all purpose flour,
  • 1 1/2 cups of milk (300 ml.),
  • Salt,
  • Black pepper,
  • 1 cup of mixed vegetables (boiled peas, potatoes and carrots).

For the sauce;

  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste,
  • 2 cups of hot water (400 ml.),
  • Salt.

For the top;

  • Grated cottage cheese.

Process of Meatballs with Vegetables in Bechamel Sauce Recipe

Prepare the meatballs. Chop the onion, garlic, parsley and the egg into a chopper. Put them into a deep bowl and add the ground beef. Finally add the salt, spices and breadcrumbs then knead.

Take not big or not very small pieces from it and roll them in your palm and shape as the hamburger meatballs. Place the meatballs into a greased tray or pyrex and bake them into the preheated oven to 190°C until the meatballs get lightly brown.

Prepare the bechamel sauce. Melt the butter and add the vegetable oil. Add the flour and stir until bubbly. Don’t let the flour darken or burn. Turn the heat to low, add the milk, salt, black pepper and whisk until smooth.

And then continue whisking until the mixture scalds and begins to thicken. Don’t let it boil. Continue until you have a smooth, white sauce. Then turn off the stove and add the rinsed and drained vegetables into the bechamel sauce. Place the sauce on the meatballs evenly.

Mix the paste and the hot water in a deep bowl and pour it into the tray among the meatballs. Sprinkle some grated cottage cheese on the meatballs and bake the meatballs at 190°C until the paste sauce boils and the top gets golden brown.

Serve the yummy meatballs with vegetables hot.
