- 1 packet of margarine (250 grams),
- 1 teacup of vegetable oil (110 ml.),
- 4 tablespoons of cornstarch,
- 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
- 1 packet of baking powder (10 grams),
- 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
- 3 1/2 – 4 cups of all purpose flour (the cup size is 200 ml.).

Prepare the shortbread cookies dough. Mix all the ingredients in a deep bowl, except for the flour. Add the flour gradually and start kneading. Knead until you get a smooth and soft dough which doesn’t stick to your hands.
Take apple-sized pieces from the dough. Roll each piece by your hand to turn them into the long pipes, about 2 cm. in diameter. Press slightly on it with your hand. Take a fork and draw liners all along the pipe. This is just for decoration.
Cut the cookie pieces from the pipe to create the diamond shapes. Put the pieces into the greased tray.
Bake them into the oven preheated to 180°C. Check them while baking so that they don’t turn too brown. Then remove them from the oven and leave in the tray to cool down.
If you want you can sprinkle the powdered sugar on and serve them.
