Milk Slice Recipe
You can easily make this healthier milk slice recipe with these simple instructions and step by step photos at home. And these milk slices so delicious that are perfect for packing in your child’s lunchbox!
For the sponge cake;
- 2 eggs,
- 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar,
- 1/2 cup of yogurt (100 ml.),
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil (100 ml.),
- 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder,
- 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder,
- 4 tablespoons of all purpose flour.
For the cream;
- 1 packet of milk cream (200 ml.),
- 2 packets of whipped cream (75 + 75 grams),
- 2 or 3 drops lemon juice,
- 1/2 teacup of milk (55 ml.),
- 1 tablespoon of honey.
How to make Milk Slice Recipe?
Prepare the cream. Mix all the ingredients for the cream into a bowl until it gets enough consistency. And then leave it to the refrigerator.
Prepare the sponge cake mixture. Mix the eggs and the sugar until foamy. Add the yogurt and the vegetable oil. Mix them, too. Add the vanilla, the baking powder, the cocoa powder and the flour and mix them well.
Pour the cake mixture onto a baking sheet and spread it out on the paper.
Bake the cake into the oven preheated to 180°C for 10 minutes. In order to avoid from the cake rising, you can open the oven cover while baking once or twice. Then take out the cake from the oven and leave it to cool.
After it gets cool enough, flip the cake and peel the cooled cake off the baking paper carefully. Then cut the cake in half.
Spread the cream over one of the cake. Then place the other cake on it. Leave the cake into the refrigerator for 4 or 5 hours. At the end of the time, slice your cake with a knife and serve.
Note: It is better to make the cake the day before.
