Mini Turkish Pide with Ground Beef Recipe
With the help of this recipe, making Turkish pide is actually much easier than you think. You will enjoy this delicious Turkish specialty.
For the dough;
- 1 cup of warm milk,
- 1 teacup of yogurt (the teacup is: 110 ml.),
- 1 teacup of vegetable oil,
- 1 egg,
- 1 coffee spoon of instant yeast,
- 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar,
- 1 coffee spoon of salt (not a full spoon),
- 4,5 – 5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup is: 200 ml.).
For the ground beef mixture;
- 150 grams ground beef,
- 2 onions,
- 3 green peppers,
- 2 tomatoes,
- 1 tablespoon of paste,
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil,
- 1 coffee spoon of salt,
- Red pepper flakes,
- Black pepper,
For the top;
- 1 egg yolk.
Process of Mini Turkish Pide with Ground Beef Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dough, combine all the ingredients except for the flour in a deep bowl.
Then add the flour slowly and knead well.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Cover the dough and leave it to rise at a warm place for 1 or 2 hours.
To prepare the ground beef mixture, chop the peppers and the onions by using a chopper and put them in a bowl.
Peel the tomatoes and finely chop them and put them in to the bowl.
Add the ground beef, paste, vegetable oil and the spices and mix them well.
Take mandarin sized pieces from the dough and give a ball shape to each by rolling them in your palm.
Flatten and give a long oval shape to each one.
Place some ground beef mixture on them and fold the long sides towards the inside then twist the ends to give a boat shape.
Place the mini ground beef pides in a greased tray and brush egg yolk on the long edges of the pides.
Bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
Serve them hot.
