Mushroom Cookies Recipe
Your children will love these delicious mushroom cookies. They will want to help while you are making the melt in the mouth cookies.
For the dough;
- 250 grams margarine (at room temperature),
- 2 eggs,
- 1 cup of powdered sugar,
- 3 cups of wheat starch,
- 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
- 1 packet of baking powder(10 grams),
- 2 and a half more cups of all purpose flour (the cup is 200 ml.).
For the top;
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder.
Process of Mushroom Cookies Recipe
Combine the margarine, eggs and powdered sugar in a bowl.
Add the vanilla and wheat starch and mix.
Then add the baking powder and add the flour slowly.
Knead the dough until you get a soft but not sticky dough.
Take walnut sized pieces from the dough and roll them in your palms.
Place the rolled pieces on a baking sheet into a baking tray.
Place cocoa powder in a small bowl. Wash and dry a cap of a bottle.
Then dust it with cocoa powder.
Press the rim of the bottle cap lightly on the dough.
Bake the mushroom shaped cookies into the preheated oven to 170°C.
Don’t let them turn a golden brown.
After baking, leave them in the tray to cool, don’t remove them as soon as you turning off the oven.
When they get cool enough, you can serve.
These mushroom cookies were my childhood favorite. After many years I’ve made them again and I’ve realize that they are still my favorite.
