Process of Pastry with Dill and Carrot Recipe
Firstly, mix the butter, egg, warm milk, salt, sugar and yeast into a deep bowl by using your hand until it gets creamy.
Add the flour slowly and knead.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Cover the dough and leave it to rise for 1 hour.
Add the grated carrot and chopped dill in the dough and knead it again (If needed, you can add 1 tablespoon of flour).
Take egg size pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm.
Make the pieces large rounds on a lightly floured surface by using your finger tips.
Place some filling in the centre of the dough and fold the dough in half, enclosing the filling, and press the edges together firmly and make an oval shaped pastry.
Place the shaped pastries on a baking sheet in to a tray by placing the closed edges underneath.
Brush the egg yolk on them and leave them to rise in the tray before baking for 15 or 20 minutes.
Then bake cheese pastries with dill and carrot in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking, serve hot.
