Potato Stuffed Pastry Recipe
Potato stuffed pastry with step by step recipe. These delicious savory appetizer pastries filled with full of yummy potatoes. It is easy to make.
- 1 cup of yogurt (at the room temperature),
- 1 1/2 cups of warm milk (300 ml.),
- 10 grams of instant yeast (1 packet),
- 1 cup of warm water (200 ml.),
- 1 egg,
- 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar,
- 1 coffee spoon of salt,
- 7 or 7 1/2 cups of all purpose flour (the cup size is 200 ml.).
For the filling;
- 4-5 middle size of potatoes,
- 2-3 bunch of fresh green onion,
- 150 grams of butter.
Process of Potato Stuffed Pastry Recipe
At first, to prepare the filling, peel the potatoes and cut in pieces (not very small) and put them in a pot.
Add water and salt then leave it to boil.
Then drain and mash the potatoes with a fork.
Add the chopped fresh green onions, mint and parsley then mix.
To prepare the dough, put the 4 cups of all purpose flour in a deep bowl.
Add the other ingredients and knead.
Then add the flour slowly and get a soft, slightly sticky dough.
Knead the dough 5 or 6 minutes and clean your hands.
Grease your hands with the vegetable oil and gather the dough.
Cover the dough and leave it to rise for 1 hour (if you do not have time, leave the dough to rise in the heated oven at 50).
Take orange size pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm.
Roll out them lengthwise and brush the melted butter and sprinkle some potato filling.
Roll the dough and cut the long rolled dough in 2 cm. thickness and place them upright in a greased tray.
Continue with the dough left.
Then brush melted butter on the pastries.
Leave them to rise in the tray for 30 minutes before baking.
Finally bake the pastries in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
