Puff Pastry Cheese Swirls Recipe
These cheese swirls appetizers are made with puff pastry and perfect for breakfast and brunch with a cup of warm coffee or tea. Or you can eat them whenever you want.
- 4 puff pastry sheets, thawed,
- All purpose flour (for rolling the puff pastry sheets).
For the filling;
- 150 grams feta cheese or cottage cheese,
To brush on;
- 1 egg yolk (beaten).
To sprinkle on;
- Sesame seeds.
Process of Puff Pastry Cheese Swirls Recipe
To prepare the puff pastry cheese swirls, firstly, take the puff pastry sheets out from the freezer and leave them to get tender at the room temperature.
For the filling, stir the feta cheese and finely chopped parsley in a bowl.
Divide the puff pastry sheets in half and get 8 square puff pastry sheets.
Roll out one of the square puff pastry sheet to a rectangle shape on a slightly floured plain surface. (use flour if it is a little sticky). Spread about the cheese filling along the long edge closest to you and then roll it up like a jelly roll. Shape the puff pastry roll into a coil and place it on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Continue with the other puff pastry sheets.
Brush them with beaten egg yolk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until crisp and golden. Serve hot.
