Quick and Easy Pastry Recipe
As you understand from the name, it is a quick and easy pastry recipe for unexpected guests or for hungry children after school or a picnic.
For the dough;
- 60 grams butter,
- 1 coffee spoon of granulated sugar (not fully),
- 1 teaspoon of salt,
- A half packet of baking powder,
- 2 – 2,5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup is 200 ml.).
- 1 teacup of vegetable oil (110 ml.),
- 1 tablespoon of yogurt (a full tablespoon),
- One egg white (the egg yolk is for the top),
- 1 coffee spoon of vinegar,
For the filling;
- 1 bowl curd cheese,
- 1 pinch of parsley.
For the top;
- Egg yolk,
Process of Quick and Easy Pastry Recipe
Firstly, melt the butter and leave it to get warm.
Combine the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt in a bowl.
Then to prepare the filling, mix the cheese and chopped parsley in a bowl.
Put the warm butter in a bowl.
Add the vegetable oil, yogurt and egg white and mix them.
Then add the flour mixture and the vinegar in it and knead well.
Add the flour slowly cup by cup and get a soft but not a sticky dough.
Divide the dough in 12 pieces and roll them in your palm.
Make the dough pieces larger by pressing on them with your hands on a plain surface.
Then place the filling in the center of the dough and cover the filling with the other half of the dough and get an oval shaped dough.
Place the shaped dough on a baking sheet in to a tray.
Brush the egg yolk on them and make lines on the pastries by using a fork.
Finally sprinkle some sesame on them.
Bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
