Learn how to make a basic rice pilaf with these simple instructions.
At first, rinse the rice and leave them in water for almost 1 hour. Then rinse them again and drain well.
Put the butter and the vegetable oil in a pan and heat. Add the rice and add the salt and cook them for while until the grains of rice are separate. Then add the water (or chicken broth) and bring to a boil.
When it starts to boil, cover the lid and cook over low heat. Cook until all of the broth is absorbed. When it is okay, turn off the stove. And then gently mix the pilaf by stirring.
Then cover the lid again and leave the pilaf to rest for 10 minutes. Then serve hot.
