This easy sponge roll cake is soft, sweet, and full of cream and also so impressive dessert!

Ingredients;

For the cocoa sponge cake;

  • 1 teacup of granulated sugar,
  • 2 middle size eggs (at the room temperature),
  • 1 coffee spoon cocoa powder,
  • 1 teacup of all purpose flour (not a full cup),
  • A half teaspoon of baking powder.

For the spinach sponge cake;

  • 1 teacup of granulated sugar,
  • 2 middle size eggs (at the room temperature),
  • 1 tablespoon of boiled and ,mashed spinach
  • 1 teacup and a tablespoon of all purpose flour,
  • A half tea spoon of baking powder.

For the cream;

  • 3 cups of milk (600 ml.),
  • 6 tablespoons of all purpose flour,
  • 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar,
  • 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
  • 1 tablespoon of butter or margarine,
  • 75 grams whipped cream powder.

To put in (if you desire);

  • Peach or banana.

Process of Roll Cake Recipe

For the cocoa sponge cake, mix the eggs and the sugar until it gets foamy.
Add the cocoa powder and mix again.
Add the baking powder and the flour and mix well.

For the spinach sponge cake, mix the eggs and the sugar until it gets foamy.
Add the boiled and mashed spinach and mix again.
Add the baking powder and the flour and mix well.

Place the cocoa cake mixture and the spinach cake mixture in separate pipping bags.
Place a baking sheet in a baking tray.
Squeeze gently to pipe on the baking sheet the cake mixture in order.
Firstly, squeeze the cocoa cake mixture (a line from right to the left) then squeeze the spinach cake mixture.
Continue to squeezing and bake it in the preheated oven at 180°C.

After baking remove the cake on a clean cloth by turning the tray.
And roll the cake with the baking sheet and cover it a clean cloth.

For the cream, put the milk, sugar, flour in a pot and cook it by stirring until it gets thick.
When it gets thick add the vanilla and the margarine and mix by stirring then turn off the stove and leave it to get warm.
After it gets warm, add the whipped cream powder and mix by using a mixer for 2 or 3 minutes.
Unroll the cake and spread the cream on it and place slices of peach or banana and roll the cake again.
Leave the roll cake in the refrigerator to cool.
Then slice and serve.
