Rolled Cheese Borek Recipe
Borek is just an essential part of life in Turkey. They are made for any occasion and they can be eaten in any time of the day. Here we are with another Turkish rolled cheese borek recipe!
- 9 sheets of phyllo dough.
For the brush on the dough;
- 75 grams of margarine or butter (melted),
- 1 teacup of water (110 ml.).
- 100 grams of cottage cheese,
- Handful of flat leaf parsley (finely chopped).
For the brush on;
- 1 egg yolk.
Process of Rolled Cheese Borek Recipe
For filling, toss together the crumbled cottage cheese and chopped parsley in a bowl.
Lay a phyllo dough on a work surface. Brush the whole surface with water and then with the melted butter.
Now, do the same with the next layer. Repeat until you have three layers finished.
Scatter 1/3 of the cheese mixture along the short edge of the dough. Roll up the dough to the end.
Make a U from the rolled dough and gently transfer this to the baking tray.
Apply the same process for the other phyllo dough then put them into the baking tray.
Beat the egg yolk a little and brush it on the U dough into the baking tray.
Mix the water left and the melted butter left and brush it on the U dough into the baking tray, too.
Bake them into the preheated oven to 190°C until they become golden.
Remove them from the oven and cover with a wet cloth for soften and then serve.
