Rose Shaped Sweet Semolina Pastry Recipe
This rose shaped sweet semolina pastry are just as easy to make and taste just as great. And it looks like you should never eat it but keep in a glass case in view always.
- 100 grams of butter (at the room temperature ),
- 200 ml. vegetable oil,
- 1 cup of yogurt (the cup size is 200 ml.),
- 1 cup of semolina,
- 10 grams of baking powder (1 packet),
- 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
- 1 egg,
- 4 1/2 – 5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup size is 200 ml.).
For the syrup;
- 4 cups of granulated sugar,
- 4 cups of water,
- A half lemon juice.

Prepare the syrup. Boil the water and the sugar in a pot. When it starts to boil add the lemon juice and continue to boil for more 5 minutes. Then remove it from the stove and leave it to get warm.
Prepare the pastry dough. Mix the butter, vegetable oil, yogurt, semolina, egg, baking powder and vanilla in a deep bowl. Add the flour slowly and knead well and get a soft dough.
Roll out the dough to 0,5 cm thickness on a plain surface by laying a plastic wrap on the dough. Then use a teacup to cut out some round pieces. Pile 4 pieces together and then roll up the 4 pieces. Cut into half and get 2 rose flowers shaped dough. Continue with the dough left.
Then place them in a greased tray and bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden.
After removing them from the oven, pour the warm syrup on them. After they absorb the syrup and get cool, you can serve.
Note: If desired, you can make them colorful by adding food coloring in to the dough.
And also if you want, you can prepare them by adding cocoa powder in to the dough (put the flour lack of two tablespoons and put 2 tablespoons of cocoa instead).
