Savory Cheese Dill Pastry Recipe
This delicious savory cheese dill pastry is a favorite breakfast or tea time treat. And also this pastry recipe is easy to make at home.
- 2 cups of yogurt,
- 1 cup of vegetable oil (200 ml.),
- 3 packets of baking powder (30 grams),
- 1 teaspoon of mahaleb,
- 1 coffee spoon of salt,
- 10 – 15 brunches of dill,
- Almost 4 cups of all purpose flour.
For the filling;
- 1 bowl of curd cheese or feta cheese.
For the top;
- 1 egg yolk,
- Sesame seeds.
The cup size is 200 ml.
Process of Savory Cheese Dill Pastry Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dough, combine all the ingredients except for the dill and the flour in a deep bowl.
Add the flour slowly and knead.
Add the chopped dill and then knead well.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Take mandarin sized pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm.
Make the dough pieces larger by pressing slightly on them with your fingers on plain surface.
Place the fillings (curd cheese or feta cheese) in the center of the dough and enclose the filling.
Press the edges together firmly and roll them in your palm again.
Place the pastries in a greased tray.
Brush egg yolk on the pastries and sprinkle sesame seeds on them.
Bake the savory cheese dill pastry in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking, serve hot or warm.
