Savory Pastry with Feta and Parsley Recipe
This savory pastry with feta and parsley is a perfect treat for a tea time, breakfast and lunch or you can even get up in the middle of the night to have one.
For the dough;
- A half packet of margarine (at the room temperature)(125 grams),
- 1 teacup of yogurt,
- 1 teacup of vegetable oil (the teacup is: 110 ml.)
- 2 eggs (one of the egg yolk is for the top),
- 1 tablespoon of vinegar,
- A half bunch of parsley,
- 1 teacup of feta cheese,
- 1 packet of baking powder (10 grams),
- 3,5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup size is: 200 ml.).
For the top;
- Egg yolk,
- Sesame seeds.
Process of Savory Pastry with Feta and Parsley Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dough, combine all the ingredients except for the parsley, feta and flour in a deep bowl.
Add the flour slowly and knead.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Add the finely chopped parsley and the feta cheese and knead again.
Take egg size pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm then make oval shaped dough.
Place the oval shaped dough in a greased tray by leaving spaces between them.
Brush egg yolk on the pastries and make lines on them by using a fork.
Finally sprinkle some sesame seeds on them and bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking serve hot.
