Sesame Bread Rings Recipe
You should try the crunchy crust coated with golden sesame seeds, and nice soft dough. Having these small soft sesame bread rings at breakfast with feta cheese and slices of olives transforms your breakfast to sophisticated and royal like a meal.
For the dough;
- 3 packets of baking powder,
- 1 cup of vegetable oil,
- 2 cups of yogurt,
- 1 teaspoon of mahalepi,
- 1 coffee spoon of salt,
- 5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup is 200 ml.).
For the top;
- 3 tablespoons of molasses ,
- 3 tablespoons of water,
- Sesame seeds.
Process of Sesame Bread Rings Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dough, combine the yogurt, vegetable oil, baking powder, salt and mahalepi in a deep bowl.
Add the flour slowly and knead the dough and get a soft and lightly sticky dough.
Then take walnut sized pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm.
Get 32 dough pieces.
Take the two pieces and by using your hands form a long rope.
Twist both halves of the rope, join two ends together to form a circle, press the ends firmly to seal.
And place it on a baking sheet into a tray and continue with the dough pieces left.
Mix the molasses and the water in a bowl and brush it on the shaped dough.
Then bake the sesame bread rings in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking, serve hot or warm.
The amount of the flour can change according to the brand of the all purpose flour and the how juicy the yogurt is.
So add the flour slowly while kneading.
You can brush on the dough before baking 1 egg yolk, 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil mixture instead of molasses and water mixture.
