Sun Pastry Recipe
Here is a step by step recipe for a pastry shaped like the sun. This recipe makes sun pastry easy, try and enjoy these pastries.
For the dough;
- 1,5 cups of warm milk,
- 1 egg white (the egg yolk is for the top),
- 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar,
- A half cup of warm water,
- A half cup of vegetable oil ,
- 50 grams of margarine (at the room temperature),
- 1 coffee spoon of salt,
- 1 packet of instant yeast(10 grams),
- 5,5 cups of all purpose flour (the cup is 200 ml.)
For the top;
- Egg yolk,
- Black cumin seeds.
Process of Sun Pastry Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the sun pastry dough, mix all the ingredients except for the flour and the yeast in a deep bowl.
Add the yeast and add the flour slowly and knead well.
Get a soft but not a sticky dough.
Cover the dough firstly with a plastic wrap then a clean cloth and leave it to rise for an hour.
Take mandarin size pieces from the dough and roll them in your palm.
Put the bottom of a teacup in the center of the dough pieces and press lightly on them.
Then cut the border (firstly cut the border in 4 then cut each of them in 3 and finally get 12 slices).
Turn each slice 90 degrees to the same direction.
Place the shaped pastry on a baking sheet in a tray.
Continue with the other dough pieces.
(If you shape the dough on a baking sheet, it makes easy to place them in the tray).
Brush egg yolk on the pastries and sprinkle some black cumin seeds in the center not on the slices.
Then leave them in the tray to rise for 10 minutes.
After the ten minutes, bake them in the preheated oven at 180°C until they get golden brown.
After baking, you can serve.
