Process of The Perfect Croissants Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dough, combine all the ingredients except for the flour in a deep bowl.
Add the flour slowly and knead well.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Cover the dough and leave it to rise for 1 hour until the dough gets double size.
Place the margarine or the butter (at the room temperature) in a plastic bag and make it plain by pressing on it with a rolling pin.
Then leave it to drizzle in the refrigerator.
Roll out the dough on a plain surface and wrap the edges of the dough like an envelope and get a square shaped dough.
Roll out the dough and place the margarine in the centre of the dough.
Wrap the edges on the butter and roll it out again in 0,5 cm thickness on a slightly floured surface (get a rectangular shaped dough).
Fold the dough into thirds and put the dough in a plastic bag and leave it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Do the same process twice and finally roll out the dough as large as you can.
Cut the dough in triangles.
Make small lines by using a knife on the large side of the triangles (If you desire, put some chocolate chips in the center of the dough before rolling the triangles).
Roll each triangle lightly and place them on a baking sheet.
Cover the croissants with a greased plastic wrap leave them to rise for 15 minutes.
Then brush the egg yolk on them and bake the in the preheated oven at 200°C until their tops get golden brown for almost 15 or 20 minutes.
