Turkish Carrot Delight (Cezerye) Recipe
Turkish Carrot Delight (Cezerye) is a delicious confectionery made of carrots, nuts and sugar, coated with desiccated coconut flakes. They are utterly delicious, healthy and also known to be an aphrodisiac.
- 1 kilo carrot,
- 2 cups of granulated sugar,
- 1 cup of hazelnut (crumbled),
- 1/2 tea spoon cinnamon,
- Desiccated coconut flakes.
Process of Turkish Carrot Delight (Cezerye) Recipe
Peel the carrots and cut them into four pieces. Then place them in a pot and cover with water.
Cook them until they get softener. Then strain the carrots.
Grate the carrots on the small holes of a box grater in a non-sticky pot.
Add 2 cups of granulated sugar on them.
Cook the carrots over the medium heat by stirring continiously until all the juice evaporated and they are softened.
Stir in the chopped hazelnut and cinnamon to the carrot paste and mix well. Using your stirring spoon, blend them all well and turn into a thick paste.
Cook them for 1 – 2 minutes and remove them from the heat.
Sprinkle the some desiccated coconut flakes into a rectangular dish.
Then pour the carrot paste into the dish and spread it.
Sprinkle desiccated coconut flakes on the top of it and leave to cool at a room temperature.
Then put it into the fridge.
When it cools enough slice it and dip slices into the desiccated coconut flakes and serve.
