Turkish Semolina Cookies Soaked in Syrup
Here is the Turkish Semolina Cookies Soaked in syrup recipe. These sweet, sticky and tender cookies are made from semolina, flour and yogurt that are baked golden brown and left to steep in sweet syrup.

Ingredients;
For dessert dough;
- 2 eggs,
- 1 cup of yogurt,
- 1 cup of vegetable oil,
- 2 cups of semolina,
- 1 packet of vanilla (5 grams),
- 2 packets of baking powder (10 + 10 grams),
- 2 cups of all purpose flour.
To coat with;
- 1 cup of semolina.
For the syrup (you won’t boil it);
- 4 cups of granulated sugar,
- 4 cups of water (800 ml.).
The cup size is 200 ml.
Process of Turkish Semolina Cookies Soaked in Syrup Recipe
For the semolina cookies dough, put all the ingredients in a deep bowl. Mix well and make a soft but not sticky dough. Leave the dough for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes, take walnut-sized pieces from the dough and roll them with the palm of your hand. Then coat the rolled pieces with semolina.

Place them into the greased baking tray. Bake them into the preheated oven at 180°C until the cookies are golden brown.

While the cookies are in the oven, prepare the syrup. Put the water and sugar in a deep bowl and mix them until the sugar is dissolved.
When their color turn golden brown, remove the cookies from the oven and pour the syrup on them.

After the desserts cool down, you can serve. With this recipe you can get 42 semolina desserts. The number of desserts varies according to their size.
