Walnut Tahini Dessert Recipe
If you are get bored classical desserts and looking for a different dessert with syrup, here is a perfect recipe. This walnut tahini dessert is both nutritious because of the tahini, molasses and walnut and easy to do.
For the pie dough;
- 50 grams butter or margarine (at the room temperature),
- A half teacup of vegetable oil,
- 1 egg,
- A half teacup of tahini,
- A half cup of crushed walnut,
- 1,5 tablespoons of yogurt,
- A half packet of baking powder (1 coffee spoon),
- 1 pinch of salt,
- 2,5 cups of all purpose flour(the cup is: 200 ml.).
For the syrup;
- 2 cups of water,
- 1 cup of granulated sugar,
- A half cup of molasses ,
- 2-3 drops of lemon juice.
Process of Walnut Tahini Dessert Recipe
Firstly, to prepare the dessert dough, combine the margarine, vegetable oil, egg, tahini, yogurt and a pinch of salt in a deep bowl.
Add the baking powder and add the flour slowly and knead well.
Get a soft but not sticky dough.
Finally add the crushed walnut and knead well.
Place the dough in a greased rectangular pyrex (the pyrex is 36*24 cm).
Spread the dough in the pyrex by pressing on it by using your hand.
Cut the dough in diamond shapes.
Bake it in the preheated oven at 180°C until it gets slightly brown.
After taking it out from the oven, leave it to cool.
To prepare the syrup, put the sugar and the water in a pot and leave it to boil.
After it starts to boil, lower the heat and add the lemon juice and continue to boil for more 5 or 10 minutes over low heat.
Add the molasses and mix well then turn off the stove.
After the pie gets cool enough, pour the hot syrup on it and leave it to absorb the syrup.
It can take a long time.
After it absorbs the syrup and gets cool enough, serve the walnut tahini dessert.
